We’re on the lookout for a reliable and motivated Workshop Assistant to join a busy Upper Hutt-based manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and thrives in a night shift environment.
What’s on offer:
- 40 hours per week across 4 nights
- Consistent night shift: 6:00pm – 4:30am
- Stable, ongoing work in a supportive team
About the role:
You’ll be working in a plastic manufacturing workshop, assisting with the operation of machinery and supporting production throughout the shift. This is a varied role that combines machine operation, basic troubleshooting, and hands-on assembly work.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with running a plastic manufacturing machine
- Basic problem solving and fault finding
- Changing tools in the machine as required
- Assembling plastic products during downtime
- General workshop duties to keep the site running smoothly
What we’re looking for:
- Practical, hands-on attitude
- Mechanically minded with good problem-solving skills
- Reliable and able to commit to night shift hours
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Previous manufacturing or workshop experience is a bonus (but not essential)
