Locum Equine Veterinary Nurse – 6 Month Opportunity Spend your summer in New Zealand’s South Island! Are you an experienced Equine Veterinary Nurse looking for your next adventure? This fixed-term, 6-month position offers you the opportunity to play a key role in a busy equine practice during our vibrant summer season while developing your own areas of interest and expertise. What we’re looking for: You’ll bring a solid background in veterinary technology, equine nursing, or veterinary technician training, along with a genuine passion for horses and their care. In this role, you’ll be: • Assisting with equine surgeries and maintaining theatre protocols. • Assisting ambulatory vets on farm with field surgeries, lameness exams and diagnostics. • Delivering high-quality nursing care to surgical and hospitalised patients. • Supporting and mentoring colleagues in a collaborative team environment. • Helping manage daily hospital operations. • Participating in our after-hours and weekend roster. • Maintaining high standards of hygiene across equipment, instruments, and facilities. • Overseeing stock control, invoicing, and accurate record-keeping. • Communicating effectively with clients, referring vets, and the wider community. • Coordinating bookings, admissions, triage, and discharges. Part-Time Cattery Assistant – Join Our Woodend Vet Clinic & Cattery Team We’re on the lookout for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic person to join our friendly Woodend Vet Clinic and Cattery team as a Cattery Assistant. Our Woodend clinic is part of the wider Rangiora Vet Centre family – a place where team culture, work-life balance, and looking after one another are just as important as the care we give our clients and their pets. About the role This is a permanent weekend role, working Saturday and Sunday (4 hours each day 8:00 am - 10:00 am & 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm), with occasional extra casual shifts when needed during peak periods. We currently have a vacancy for a motivated and reliable team member to join us in a hybrid role that combines inventory support with online customer service. This is a varied position where your day may include assisting with ordering and stock management, providing top-tier online customer support, pick, pack and dispatch of orders as well as inwards goods control. If you’re someone who enjoys diversity in their work and thrives in a team-focused environment, this could be the role for you.
