Our client are a proudly New Zealand-owned and operated manufacturing business, producing premium coldmix, aggregates, sands, and decorative stones for commercial, industrial, and export clients. About the Role Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll oversee all day-to-day production activities, lead a team of five operators, and ensure our Health & Safety standards are met across the board. This is not a desk job — we’re after someone who thrives on the floor, rolls up their sleeves, and leads by example. You’ll be supported by a collaborative senior leadership team while enjoying full autonomy in running the site. Key Responsibilities • Lead and motivate a team of 5 operators across two production lines • Plan daily production in collaboration with the Operations & Logistics Manager • Uphold a strong H&S culture across the site • Deliver hands-on supervision and task coordination throughout the day • Monitor production targets, quality control, and output timelines • Act as the go-to decision maker on-site for troubleshooting and delivery • Drive continuous improvement across production processes • Ensure all operations comply with safety procedures and best practice • Provide performance feedback and coaching as needed What We’re Looking For • 3+ years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting • Proven team management and hands-on supervision skills • A valid forklift licence • Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills • Practical, proactive, and confident making on-the-spot decisions • Industry experience in aggregates, coldmix, or construction products is a bonus • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Why Join Us? • Full ownership of a key production site • Stable team, straightforward product lines, and supportive leadership • Genuine impact on site performance and customer outcomes • Proudly NZ-owned business with local roots and global reach Ready to lead from the front?
