Put simply, sustainability is what we do. **Job Description**We have an opportunity for a Welder to join our team at our Christchurch Branch. You will be supporting the business through maintaining the Christchurch Municipal, Christchurch Commercial, and Canterbury Landfill & Energy fleet consisting of over 100 trucks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform MIG and TIG welding on unit frames, bodies, and parts. - Repair cracks, breaks, and wear on truck and unit components. - Fabricate custom parts, panels, and reinforcements as required. - Coordinate with supervisors to schedule vehicle maintenance. - Assist with Vehicle maintenance when required - Maintain accurate records of all ongoing maintenance work. - Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. - Manage job processing through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). - Requisition of necessary repair parts and consumables. - Perform daily checks of all Vehicle Workshop tools and equipment to ensure they are serviceable and accounted for. **Qualifications** **To be successful in this role you will need:** - NZ Certificate in Welding (Level 4) - Preference will be given to those with Automotive background and experience. - Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - A Class 4 Driver’s Licence would also be an advantage, or open to progress through to a class 4 licence **Additional Information**What we offer: - Hourly rate of $40 per hour - Permanent full time role - Location: 301 Marsh's Road, Christchurch - Hours: 45 hours per week, rostered Monday–Saturday - Shifts: 3:00pm – 1:30am and occasionally 3:00pm – 8:00pm WM New Zealand is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and promotes drug and alcohol-free workplaces.
