Summary: This hands-on workshop role involves assisting with the fabrication of custom sheet metal ducting products in a supportive team environment, offering practical skill development and career progression. Potential for career progression and apprenticeship * Mon-Fri 7am start | 39 hours per week | Early Friday finish * $25 - $28 per hour (up to $30 for experienced candidates) * Hands-on Workshop Role | Career Progression + Apprenticeship Opportunity About the Role: Our client is a well-established sheet metal fabrication business specialising in custom ducting solutions. Based in a busy workshop environment, this role offers the opportunity to develop practical fabrication skills while working on a wide range of bespoke projects. You will join a supportive team and assist with the hands-on fabrication of ducting products, working primarily with thin sheet metal (up to 1.6mm). The work is varied, covering both square and round ducting components, with many custom jobs ensuring no two days are the same. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical mindset who enjoys practical work and wants to build a long-term career, including the potential to complete an apprenticeship. Working Hours: 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 3:00pm Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm Overtime may sometimes be required and is paid only after 39 hours normal work at 1.5 times the normal rate. The Main Duties Include: * Assist with fabrication of sheet metal ducting products * Cutting, bending and shaping thin sheet metal * Assembling square and round duct fittings * Working from instructions to complete bespoke orders * Using hand tools and basic machinery within the workshop * Maintaining quality standards across all fabricated products * Keeping the workspace clean, organised and safe Skills & Requirements: * Mechanical aptitude - hands-on experience (e.g. cars, tools, workshop environments) * Ideally some background in fabrication, engineering or similar trades (not essential) * Ability to follow instructions and work within a team * Physically fit and comfortable working with sheet metal * Keen attitude with willingness to learn and develop skills * Reliable and committed to long-term employment * Able to pass a pre-employment drug test * Have no criminal convictions
