Supportive, down-to-earth team We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join our team and work directly with company directors delivering practical, compliant HVAC solutions across commercial projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of HVAC design from concept through to commissioning, supporting project delivery and providing technical leadership across the business. What You’ll Be Doing * Design and review HVAC systems (heat pumps, VRF/VRV, chilled water, ventilation) * Complete load calculations, system selection, and technical documentation * Ensure designs meet NZ Building Code and AS/NZS standards * Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning * Provide engineering input into tenders, pricing, and value engineering * Support projects during construction by responding to RFIs and resolving technical issues * Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance * Support commissioning, testing, balancing, and handover of HVAC systems * Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and councils About You * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) * Proven HVAC / building services engineering experience * Strong knowledge of NZ Building Code and HVAC standards * Confident working autonomously and reporting to directors * Clear communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach * Bonus points for: Revit/AutoCAD experience or site exposure.
