Description

What if your next role helped shift health outcomes for whanau across Aotearoa — for good? We’re looking for a dynamic, people-first leader to guide a passionate team of kaimahi in the heart of our hapori. As Kaiarahi Tima Whanau Ora (Team Leader Healthy Families), you’ll be at the forefront of empowering whanau, shaping health services, and building trusted relationships with iwi, hapu, Pasifika, and wider community groups. If you're driven by kaupapa Maori values, skilled at whakawhanaungatanga, and keen to turn big ideas into action — this is your calling. What You'll Do - Champion whanau wellbeing and lead initiatives that help reduce the impact of cancer and health inequities - Strengthen community partnerships with Maori health providers, local councils, and hauora organisations - Provide hands-on leadership to a dedicated team working across Newtown, Porirua, Kapiti, and the Hutt Valley - Help design and deliver impactful kaupapa focused on cancer prevention and support - Be a go-to cultural leader, weaving tikanga Maori and holistic models into our mahi - Drive change at both grassroots and strategic levels — with autonomy, heart, and purpose About You - A registered health professional with a passion for whanau-centred practice - Experienced (5+ years) in Maori health, public health, or supportive care settings - Grounded in Te Ao Maori, with a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action - A natural leader and mentor who thrives in collaborative, community-driven environments - Fluent in building bridges — between people, services, and aspirations - A confident communicator, well-organised, and digitally capable What Makes This Role Special? In this role, you’ll be leading work that truly matters — making a tangible difference for Maori, Pasifika, and other communities across Te Whanganui-a-Tara. No two days are the same; one moment you might be at a hui with local hapori leaders, the next you’re mentoring kaimahi or co-creating new health initiatives. You’ll be part of a passionate, friendly team that values aroha, equity, and authenticity, all while helping to shape a future where every whanau has the support and information they need to live well. Ready to step into a role that blends leadership, kaupapa Maori, and community transformation? Come be part of something bigger — where your mahi lifts lives!
