




Applied Conveyor and Polymers are leading belt suppliers to the mining and quarrying industries and food producers locally, have a vacancy for a Conveyor Maintenance Fitter who will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor belt systems and associated mechanical equipment. This role ensures the optimal and safe operation of conveyor systems through regular inspections, diagnostics, and corrective actions to minimize downtime and uphold safety standards. Occasionally work needs to be performed outside of normal working hours due to breakdowns or site maintenance shuts so some flexibility is required Key Responsibilities • Installation & Assembly: Install and assemble new conveyor systems and components according to blueprints and specifications. • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems to detect wear, lubricate parts, and identify potential issues. • Repairs & Replacement: Repair or replace worn or damaged components, including motors, gears, pulleys, belting, and electrical parts. • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational problems within conveyor systems to ensure smooth and efficient operation. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies while performing maintenance and repair tasks. • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and safety precautions taken. • System Monitoring: Monitor conveyor operations and equipment performance through observation and by checking various dials and gauges. • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other maintenance personnel and technicians to solve complex issues and ensure efficient operations. Qualifications and Skills • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical fitting, conveyor maintenance, or a similar role. • Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical and knowledge, with a particular focus on conveyor systems. • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and rectify issues promptly. • Reading Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. • Safety Awareness: A thorough understanding of standard safety procedures and a commitment to safe work practices. • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and strong prioritization skills. • Tool Proficiency: Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other related equipment effectively .
