Opportunity to learn specialized technical skills in a supportive team ABOUT US Escudo Coatings Ltd is a growing Dunedin-based business specialising in powder coating and electroplating services. This role is based in our Electroplating shop, which operates alongside and supports our Powder Coating division — working together to deliver high-quality finishing solutions to a wide range of customers. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a practical, reliable person to take ownership of our zinc electroplating line. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same — combining plant operation, customer interaction, and job coordination. You’ll be working largely independently, so we’re after someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys responsibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate and manage the zinc electroplating line * Load/unload racks and handle components * Manage inwards/outwards goods (forklift use) * Meet and assist customers (drop-offs & collections) * Measure, weigh, and accurately record jobs * Enter jobs and draft invoices in WorkflowMax * Communicate with customers via phone/email * Book freight and organise dispatch * Tank sampling, testing, and chemical handling * General plant maintenance and housekeeping * Assist with daily workflow planning and priorities WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Physically fit (regular lifting required) * Strong attention to detail * Good communication and customer service skills * Able to work independently and take ownership * Well organised with good time management * Forklift licence (or willing to obtain) * Interest in engineering, coatings, or similar industries (a bonus) WHAT WE OFFER * Competitive pay based on experience * Weekly pay + KiwiSaver + all PPE provided * Varied role with real responsibility * Small, supportive team * Stable, long-term position * Opportunity to learn specialised technical skills APPLY NOW If you’re practical, reliable, and keen to be part of a growing local business, we’d love to hear from you!
