• Based in Upper Hutt, Wellington • Attractive Staff Benefits • Great Earning Potential • Be a part of a Great Team We are currently looking for an Electrical Fitter to provide an electrical trade’s service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical and substations services expected of a qualified electrical fitter. The successful candidates will work on tasks like: • Performing high voltage maintenance and construction work to client specifications. • Identifying unscheduled work to ensure that client equipment is fully maintained. • Responding to emergency fault breakdown work within planned response times. • Installing substation and other high voltage equipment, as per job instructions and specifications, meeting current regulations and standards. • Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client’s plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement. • Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others. • Complying and cooperating with any reasonable instruction, policy, statement or procedure by the company to allow it to comply with its duties and obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Omexom integrated management system. Qualifications and Skills • EWRB registration as electrician or electrical fitter. • Full, clean Driver’s License • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in substations and other high voltage electrical work to industry standards. • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work. • Ability to participate in a standby roster which includes weekend work Who are we? About the Role This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful coordination, execution, and delivery of underground infrastructure projects. You’ll be working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive operational excellence and maintain high standards of safety and quality. As part of our Distribution Wellington team, you will: Coordinate scheduled field activities to meet project timelines and client expectations. Prepare and distribute work packs with all required documentation and resources. Ensure timely requests for materials, outages, traffic management, and permits. Liaise with subcontractors and internal teams to organise and monitor work progress. Track job progress and ensure completion aligns with planned timelines. Interface with clients to understand requirements and provide timely updates. Deliver accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and customers. Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety and prevent service disruptions. Respond to and coordinate fault breakdowns within SLA timeframes. The role As a Design Estimator at Northpower, you'll be right at the heart of things, working on design, pricing, planning, and tendering to meet our customer's needs and help drive the success of the business. You'll be collaborating with the Design Estimation Manager and the team to bring everything together and make sure our projects run smoothly. We are looking for a Design Estimator based in New Plymouth.
