We’re now expanding into a new division — asphalt production — and are looking for the right person to help us make it a success. Based out of our quarry in Gibbston, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new within an established and trusted company, contributing to the setup and success of this important new capability. About the Role We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Asphalt Batch Plant Operator to take ownership of our new plant operation. This will be a single-operator role, responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent production of asphalt at our batch plant, producing approximately 120 tonnes per hour to support projects across Queenstown and Central Otago. This position offers a high level of autonomy — you’ll oversee all aspects of daily operation, quality control, and maintenance, ensuring smooth and reliable production. It’s a hands-on role suited to someone who is self-driven, takes initiative, and prides themselves on doing things right the first time. Key Responsibilities * Operate and monitor the asphalt batch plant to meet production and quality targets (~120 tn/hr) * Manage all aspects of plant start-up, shutdown, and daily operation * Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs * Coordinate raw material supply and manage stock levels * Maintain quality standards through accurate batching and temperature control * Record production data and report on performance or maintenance needs * Ensure the plant and surrounding area are kept clean, safe, and well-organised * Work collaboratively with quarry, logistics, and paving teams to align production schedules About You You’ll be an experienced operator who’s comfortable taking ownership and working independently.
