




**Location - Kaitaia** The Salvation Army Kaitaia Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practise and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive**.** We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Social Worker or addictions counsellor for a part-time role in Kaitaia working with Tangata Whai Ora in a community setting, to reduce the harm caused by alcohol and/or other drug use. This is a specialist role working with the Meth Demand Reduction program. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health. - Group facilitation - Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment. - Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures - Transport of Tangata Whai Ora to and from treatment providers **Person Specification:** - Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions or equivalent - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Good cross-cultural understanding including knowledge of Te Reo me nga Tikanga - DAPAANZ Registration - Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction studies. - Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality **Our offer to you:** - An additional working week of Salvation Army leave awarded annually on 1 July - Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeing - Subsidised flu vaccinations - Discounted Medical Insurance with Southern Cross - TSA discount card for discount with various retailers such as Beaurepairs, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7 - A Vehicle will be provided to assist with transportation of Tangata Whai Ora **Hours of work:** This is a **permanent part-time** role of 32 hours per week. **The starting salary** for this role will be **$49,250 per annum**. **This role is covered by a pay equity agreement.** The Salvation Army is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and believes workplaces thrive with diversity.
