




Events, Marketing & Administration Coordinator Contract – Approx. 20-25 hours per week Employer: Promote Richmond Incorporated (trading as Richmond Unlimited) ________________________________________ About Richmond Unlimited Richmond Unlimited’s primary role is to promote the town of Richmond to support and further the business interests of the central business zone. We provide promotional information and activities to encourage local and out-of-district visitors and new residents. Additionally, we act as a key link between Tasman District Council and Richmond businesses to support development and activities that benefit the town and business. Our Mission: To make Richmond the first-choice destination for customers to shop and meet friends; for businesses to trade successfully; and for visitors to enjoy what Richmond has to offer. ________________________________________ About the Role We are seeking an energetic, motivated, organised and community-minded individual to join us as our Events, Marketing & Administration Coordinator. This is a unique, flexible contract role that offers autonomy, variety, and the chance to make a real difference in Richmond. You’ll provide operational support to our volunteer Management Committee and help deliver our vision for the town. You will be accountable to the Chairperson (or Vice-Chairperson in their absence) and work in line with the committee’s strategic direction, policies, and procedures. Monthly one-on-one meeting with Chair. ________________________________________ Key Objectives • Positively represent and support Richmond Unlimited in all work. • Manage, deliver, and develop an ongoing programme of events and promotions to support Richmond businesses. • Maintain professionalism, openness, and enthusiasm in all dealings. • Ensure all activities align with decisions of the Management Committee. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Event Management • Develop and deliver Richmond Unlimited’s signature events (e.g., Ghost & Goblins, Richmond Santa Parade, Richmond Market Day) and other events aligned with the Strategic Plan. • Create new promotions or marketing opportunities for Richmond businesses, leveraging off regional events. • Manage contractors, volunteers, and service providers for events. • Apply for event grants and maintain positive sponsor and funder relationships. • Support additional committee-led initiatives (e.g., Decorate 2 Winc Vibrancy fund etc). Communications & Marketing • Keep the Richmond Unlimited website current and encourage business/community use. • Coordinate the monthly Richmond Shout-Out newsletter via SurveyMonkey, maintaining a clean database. • Manage Richmond Unlimited’s social media presence, ensuring fresh and relevant content. • Arrange marketing and advertising (radio, print, online) where required. • Provide approved media information in consultation with the Chairperson/committee. Business Relationships • Build and maintain strong links with Richmond businesses, members, and stakeholders. • Work collaboratively with Tasman District Council, Uniquely Nelson, NRDA, Our Town Motueka, and the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce. • Administration • Implement committee strategies, policies, and procedures. • Provide monthly activity reports and accounts for payment. • Maintain efficient administrative and filing systems. • Manage correspondence and committee secretarial duties, including preparing agendas and minutes. • Ensure invoices, accounts, and financial records are accurate and meet Auditor requirements. • Support the Treasurer and accountants with required information. • Maintain an annual plan of events, deadlines, and key activities. • Identify and report any health and safety hazards. • Maintain and appropriately care for Richmond Unlimited equipment. ________________________________________ About You • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and highly organised. • Experienced in event management and promotional activity. • Strong administration skills with high computer literacy. • Confident in marketing, retail promotions, and social media. • Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required. • Passionate about supporting local businesses and helping Richmond thrive. • You don’t need to have all of the skills listed – if you have most of them, we’d still like to hear from you as we are open to outsourcing certain areas. ________________________________________ Hours & Contract • Approx. 20 - 25 hours per week (averaged) under an Independent Contractor Agreement. • Flexibility required for evening meetings and weekend events. • Additional hours may be approved by the Management Committee. • Annual performance appraisal and hourly rate review conducted at the AGM. ________________________________________ How to Apply Applications close Monday 15th September 2025
