**About the Role** We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village as a Café Assistant. This is a Part Time position working Thursday to Saturday 0830-1630 In this role you will: - Making consistently excellent coffees (barista experience essential) - Light food prep (toasting/heating cabinet food, plating cakes & slices) - Serving residents, their families, and visitors with warmth and care - Managing the till and maintaining a tidy, welcoming café space - Working independently and staying calm during busy bursts **About You** To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have: - Proven barista experience - A "one person army" who enjoys running a café on their own - Genuine people skills — warm, patient, and community-minded - Reliable, organised, and able to keep quality high through peaks and lulls - Someone who understands that in a retirement village setting, food and coffee are also moments of connection and comfort Please note that, although we often welcome applications from overseas candidates, due to immigration requirements, we require applicants to have New Zealand work rights for this position **About Ryman** At Ryman, we believe the measure of a full life is one that gets richer with age.
