Key Responsibilities *Supervise and coordinate daily operations of paving teams on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to high-quality and safety standards. * Interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to execute work efficiently and accurately. * Manage materials, equipment, and resources required for each job, ordering and organising as necessary. * Foster a positive team culture, providing leadership, training, and support for crew members of all backgrounds and experience levels. * Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction. Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualities for Paving Foreman Candidates * Demonstrated experience supervising paving, road construction within civil infrastructure projects. * Knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving procedures, including safe and efficient use of plant, equipment, and hand tools. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. * Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to safety and quality. * Competency in reading site plans and using modern construction technology. * A full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1) is required; Class 2 and WTR endorsements are essential. * Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
