Chef de Partie (CDP) – Pans and Pasta Specialist Havelock North, Hawkes Bay We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie (CDP) with a strong passion for quality, consistency and flavor. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, the ability to handle high-pressure kitchen environments, and an understanding of pasta dishes and sautéing techniques. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking Napoletana pasta dishes and assisting in various kitchen tasks under the guidance of the Sous Chef and Head Chef. We are not looking for a short-term team member, a min of 12months or longer. Training will be provided. Please check us out on our website and social to get a feel for where you would be working, www.alessandrospizzeria.co.nz.We run a team of 6 Chefs, no split shifts and our kitchen team are professional adults that communicate and genuinely enjoy working together. Key Responsibilities - Prepare, cook, and present pasta dishes according to restaurant standards. - Work with sauté pans and other kitchen equipment to ensure proper cooking techniques. - Assist with the creation and development of new pasta dishes. - Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and cooked to perfection. - Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in your station. - Monitor stock levels and communicate any shortages to the Sous Chef. - Follow all health and safety procedures in the kitchen. - Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service during busy periods. - Assist with plating and presentation to ensure consistency. - Be proactive in ensuring that all dishes are prepared on time, meeting quality standards. NOTE: We use high quality dried Italian pasta Requirements: - Proven experience as a CDP Chef, preferably in Italian or pasta-focused cuisine. - knowledge of different types of pasta, sauces, and pan-cooking techniques. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. - Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. - Attention to detail, especially in presentation and seasoning. - Understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene regulations, and food preparation standards. - Culinary school qualification or equivalent experience is a plus. - Excellent health is a must as this is a busy open kitchen We open at 4pm so this position is 7 days a week, between the hours of 1pm and 10 pm. Location: 15 Joll Road, Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. Start date March 2026.
