This is a Full time position working Tuesday-Thursday 1100-1900 as Sous Chef and Friday/Saturday 0800-1700 as Senior Lead Chef In this role you will: - Collaborate with the kitchen team to create an exceptional dining experience that's 'good enough for mum'. - Provide coverage of the Senior Lead Chef during their days off. - Prepare delicious meals from our seasonal menus, rich in variety, flavour and nutrition. - Cater to different residents' dietary needs. - Assist with specialty food for fine dining experiences and functions. - Operate with health and safety as a key consideration at all times. **About You** To thrive in our environment you will have: - New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (level 3) - Be able to step up as Senior Lead Chef on Friday & Saturday - Proven experience as a Chef, leading a team and running a kitchen - Outstanding communication skills - A reliable, friendly and professional manner **Ryman Food Experience** Be part of the Ryman Food Experience, going beyond traditional aged care dining to create a truly holistic approach to nutrition and well-being, through thoughtfully prepared meals that respect our residents and celebrate diverse cultural traditions. As a Cook, you will play an essential role in creating fresh, wholesome meals in a supportive and team-focused environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Preparing and cooking production meals for our care centre as well as short order meals for the café, based on established menus and dietary needs - Maintaining an “audit-ready” kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan - Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience This is a permanent part-time role working a roster of: Wednesday to Sunday 1.30pm to 5.30pm About you: You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with: - Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in a healthcare or residential care setting - Strong knowledge of food safety standards Certification in safe food handling (preferred) - Confidence to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards - Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and holidays as required This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, loves bringing people together over food, and enjoys going the extra mile for their customers.
