Are you someone who genuinely wants to help others live their best lives?
We're looking for empathetic, passionate Support Workers to join our Community Services team. Whether you're seeking flexible hours around your current commitments or prefer consistent, rostered shifts, we have permanent, part-time roles available in the East Auckland area.
Who are we?
HealthCare New Zealand is one of Aotearoa's largest and most trusted providers of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health, and disability support services. Our mission is to help people live as independently as possible, for as long as possible - regardless of age, injury, illness, or disability.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence and achieve personal goals.
You'll work from a care plan and provide both practical and emotional support, which may include:
* Meal preparation
* Personal cares (e.g. showering, toileting)
* Administering medication
* Home management (housework)
* Supporting community outings and integration
You'll work alongside a wider team but make a meaningful difference every day, directly in the lives of the people you support.
What's in it for you?
* Competitive pay: $23.97 - $29.68 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
* Fully funded training: achieve NZQA qualifications through our Learning and Development pathway
* Flexible or regular shifts: choose what suits you - casual, part-time, or full-time
* Career progression: gain experience across aged care, disability, mental health, and rehabilitation
* Supportive team culture: be part of a passionate, inclusive, and dedicated team within NZ's largest community healthcare provider
Who are we looking for?
We value attitude above all and a genuine desire to help and support others.
We also require:
* Prior experience in healthcare or care-giving (essential)
* A minimum Level 2 NZQA healthcare qualification
* Excellent communication skills
* Willingness to work with children
* Experience with the use of hoists
* A full NZ driver's licence and reliable transport (most positions)
Why join us?
