This is a 6-week contract opportunity, ideal for someone who thrives in a high-compliance environment and can hit the ground running. You’ll be working on a specialist facility build within a live industrial environment, where health & safety and strict permit-to-work processes are critical to success. As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. You’ll play a key role in coordinating trades, managing permits, and maintaining strong site discipline, with a strong focus on health & safety leadership and compliance. Key Responsibilities - Manage day-to-day site operations to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard - Coordinate and supervise trades and contractors on site - Lead daily pre-starts/toolbox talks and manage site communications - Administer permit-to-work processes (issue, monitor, and close permits) - Must be a competent Permit Receiver - Ensure full compliance with site-specific health & safety systems and procedures - Liaise with project stakeholders and maintain clear reporting on site progress - Identify and manage site risks, ensuring a proactive safety culture What We’re Looking For - Proven experience in a Site Manager or Supervisor role - Strong health & safety knowledge in high-risk or industrial environments - Experience managing permit-to-work systems (essential) - Construction background preferred with experience supervising multiple trades - Ability to work autonomously and manage a fast-paced site - Strong communication and coordination skills What’s on Offer - 6-week contract starting 11th May - Competitive hourly rate (wages or contractor options available) - Full-time hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm - Opportunity to take ownership of a critical short-term project - Work with a well-regarded client in a high-standard environment Please note: This role is based in New Plymouth and no accommodation is provided, so it will suit candidates already based locally.
