Ongoing temp/Casual on call assignments available in Petone/Lower Hutt Key Responsibilities: • Container Unloading: Safely and efficiently unload containers using appropriate equipment and techniques. • Inspection: Inspect incoming goods for quality, accuracy, and damage, and report any issues to the supervisor. • Sorting & Staging: Sort and stage items according to predetermined locations or instructions, ensuring accurate and organized inventory management. • Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including inventory logs and shipping records. • Equipment Use: Operate various equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) as required for unloading and handling goods. • Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and minimize risk of injury. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of goods. Qualifications: • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role is preferred but not required. • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items regularly and stand for extended periods. • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory handling and documentation. • Equipment Handling: Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is a plus. • Communication Skills: Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors. • Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: • Certifications: Forklift operator certification or similar is advantageous. • Experience: Previous experience in container devanning or a similar role is a plus.
