Description

Summary: Join a dynamic team focused on the service and repair of outdoor power equipment, including two and four-stroke machines, with evolving opportunities in battery technology. Highlights: 1. Opportunity to work in a world-class, award-winning dealership group. 2. Access to training, modern systems, and experienced staff for mentoring. 3. Be part of a close-knit, fun team in a dynamic work environment. STIHL has over 35,000 Dealers in more than 160 countries, and due to the excellence of products and craftsmanship, STIHL has become the preferred choice of outdoor power equipment for many professionals and hobby gardeners worldwide. The STIHL SHOP Group is a NZ specific channel to market, that is recognised as being world class. Established in 2016, our three Wellington branches are owned and operated by Thomson Retail Group – (TRG - Alastair and Louise Thomson). The business has received numerous awards, including NZ’s STIHL Dealership of the Year in 2021 and 2023. As a business TRG offers: * A clean and tidy environment where staff take pride in their work, * Training supported and facilitated by STIHL NZ, * Modern systems and processes, * Existing skilled staff for mentoring and support, * Highly competitive remuneration; and * A close-knit fun team that socialises regularly and spans our satellite stores in Petone and Porirua. Our success to date is largely due to being a highly dynamic, and ever evolving business - so if you don’t enjoy change, this may not be the environment for you. The subject role primarily encompasses the service and repair of Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) for both residential and commercial clientele - lawnmowers, chainsaws, concrete saws, brush cutters, ride on mowers etc. Experience with both two and four stroke machines is essential. Our market is also evolving rapidly towards battery technology, so any competence in basic electronics would be beneficial. Other secondary tasks may include occasional pickup and delivery of machines, cleaning, and maintenance of your workspace. Candidates must have a “can do” positive attitude - being highly organised and tidy is a must, as you will be required to maintain good levels of productivity and efficiency. You will regularly be required to communicate directly with customers and suppliers via phone and email – so a solid level of associated communication skills is also essential. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Applicants with no relative work experience will not be considered for this role.
