We’re looking for a precision-focused excavator operator, not a general machine driver. Peard Excavation is a growing, well-structured earthworks company delivering residential and commercial projects where accuracy and finish quality matter. If you take pride in working to levels, reading plans, and getting it right the first time — we want to hear from you. What You’ll Be Doing * Precision excavation and finishing work * Working to levels, plans, and engineer specifications * Footings, piles, retaining, and final trim work * Importing and compacting hard fill * Reading plans and making accurate on-site decisions What We’re Looking For * 3+ years excavator experience (finish / precision work preferred) * Ability to work to levels and tight tolerances * Strong attention to detail and job planning * Reliable, professional, and self-managing * Ability to log time, loads, and job details (Simpro – training provided) * Full NZ driver’s licence (WTR / Class 4 advantageous) * Strong communication, respect for gear, and commitment to health & safety * Team-oriented, punctual, and tidy What We Offer: * Quality Equipment — modern, well-maintained machinery * A reliable, supportive team that values teamwork * Varied, challenging projects — no repetitive bulk work * Work-Life Balance: Stay local to Tauranga with minimal weekend work, perfect for fishing or family time. * Approachable leadership, family run business * Clear direction, systems & a fun work culture.
