This role is ideal for an operator who: * Wants to contribute to the restoration of land with historical and community significance * Enjoys precision work and takes pride in a top finish * Can think ahead, adapt when plans change, and stay calm under pressure * Wants steady work with a professional civil team and room to grow What you’ll be doing * Operating excavators (20T & 13T) and rollers * Supporting demolition works, including safe and efficient machine-based deconstruction * Completing final trim to ±10mm * Preparing surfaces for asphalt and concrete * Working across varied environments and site conditions * Communicating clearly with supervisors, crews, and clients What we’re looking for * Proven excavator operating experience (13T+) * Strong final trim skills (to 10mm) * Solid understanding of surface prep for asphalt and concrete * Ability to work calmly under pressure * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Good judgment and problem-solving ability * Excellent time management and attention to detail * Professional approach with customers and suppliers Why work with us: * Ongoing, stable civil pipeline in a growing Waikato region * Well-maintained, reliable machinery * Pathways to move across Protranz divisions as your career grows This role is not suited to trainees or entry-level operators – proven experience and confidence in final trim work is essential.
