This role involves providing compassionate care and support to residential clients impacted by alcohol and/or drug misuse, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment within a recovery house.

Location: Christchurch
* Making a difference for tangata/clients impacted by mis-use of alcohol and/ or drugs.
* Provision of afterhours and/or weekend support for residential tangata/clients
* Working on a variety of tasks maintaining an efficient and safe environment for tangata/clients to enhance their therapeutic journey

About the Role:
This role will be providing care for residential tangata/clients living on-site in a recovery house
What will your responsibilities be:
* Oversees the house environment to ensure it remains safe and supportive space for tangata/clients
* Responsible for administration of medication accurately and in accordance with policy
* Able to report observations, incidents in written and verbal formats
* Cleaning and kitchen duties are performed according to task lists
* Administration duties are performed according to task lists
* Maintains building security
Our ideal candidate will:
* Upholds the values and mission of The Salvation Army
* Holds (or is working towards) a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate
* Has a willingness to work from a bicultural perspective, and has an awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi
* Ability to work alone whilst remaining part of a team
* Experience in mental health and addiction support work roles
* Is computer literate
* Is self-organised
* Has an ability to relate to people with sensitivity, caring and patience, be tactful and discrete
* Understand the importance of boundaries and confidentiality
* Good written and oral communication skills with an ability to write accurate records and reports.

This is a casual role. The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $27.80 and $29.60
