The Loggers Shop is part of the Moutere Group, a family-owned forestry business based in the heart of Brightwater. We provide retail sales, chain sharpening, wire rope services, and practical solutions to the forestry industry. The Role We are looking for a hands-on Workshop / Field Technician to join our team. This is a varied role combining workshop-based work, onsite field jobs, and customer interaction. You’ll be involved in everything from wire rope work and light engineering to customer service and supporting day-to-day shop operations. Key Responsibilities • Complete workshop jobs including: o Wire rope work (workshop and onsite) o Light engineering and basic mechanical repairs o Chainsaw chain sharpening and bar repairs • Accurately record and track workshop jobs • Monitor and maintain workshop stock and consumables • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop. • Assist customers in the showroom and provide product support • Support deliveries and field-based work when required What We’re Looking For • A practical, hands-on team player with a can-do attitude • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Confident using a computer • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative • Positive, adaptable, and reliable Skills & Experience • Forestry or forestry machinery knowledge preferred • Forklift licence • Class 4 licence (advantage) • Off-road driving experience beneficial What We Offer • A supportive and positive team environment • A varied role across workshop, field work, and retail • Ongoing training and development opportunities • A strong focus on health, safety, and wellbeing At Moutere Group, we’re proud of our positive team culture and commitment to the ongoing development of our people.
