We’re a close-knit, high-performing team responsible for the daily operation of Palmerston North’s drinking water supply. With a strong culture of collaboration and support, we’re looking for a motivated individual to join us and help deliver safe, reliable drinking water to our community.

As a Water Treatment Technician Apprentice, you’ll begin your journey in the water industry with full support and training. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone eager to learn and grow into a qualified technician
This is a full time, fixed term (three years) position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Your focus in this role will include:
• Assist in operating and monitoring water treatment equipment
• Learn to conduct inspections, sampling, and testing
• Support maintenance activities and gain practical experience
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment
What we are looking for:
• A strong interest in water treatment and public health
• Experience or interest in plumbing, mechanical trades, or similar fields
• Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Willingness to complete formal on-the-job training
• Commitment to completing a NZ Certificate in Water Treatment (Level 4)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Full driver’s licence
