This is a foreman-level position that requires leadership on site and coordination of water construction and maintenance projects. If you’ve got a solid background in civil construction, know how to manage crews, and enjoy being hands-on while overseeing quality and safety, this role is for you.
As the Water Construction Coordinator, you’ll take charge of daily construction activities on-site, managing contractors, in-house crews, and engineers to deliver critical water projects safely, efficiently, and to standard.
This is a practical leadership role requiring you to both lead on site and provide technical input. You’ll play a key role in ensuring water projects are delivered to plan, on time, and to a high standard.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
You will:
• Coordinate and supervise daily operations on water construction and maintenance sites.
• Interpret and implement Three Waters designs and project plans.
• Manage site activities including traffic management, health & safety compliance, and quality control.
• Oversee and support a team of up to 7 Council staff and additional contractors and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with the Team Leader and Delivery Officers to programme works, ensure permits and approvals are secured, and all resources are organised.
• Support the preparation of estimates and reporting in collaboration with the Estimating team.
About you
You’ll need to bring:
• A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Civil Infrastructure, ideally in Pipeline Construction and Maintenance.
• At least 5 years' proven experience in water construction.
• Strong supervision skills and a background managing site teams and subcontractors.
• Practical knowledge of construction equipment, health and safety, and contracting standards.
• A Class 4 licence and machine operator endorsements (advantageous).
