Five university holidays per year in addition to annual leave Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role The School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences, Massey University, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Technician – Mechanical Workshop. The purpose of this role is to provide technical and workshop support on the Manawatū campus for the school’s teaching, research, and commercial functions across a variety of disciplines including food technology, chemistry, ecology, microbiology, molecular and cellular biology, and zoology. The successful applicant will carry out fabrication, maintenance, repair, diagnostic tasks and essential core functions while at all times ensuring full compliance with all relevant Health and Safety and other legislative or policy requirements. This is a full-time, permanent position. Mōu | About you It is essential that the successful applicant has a NZ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) (Level 4) in either Fitting and Machining or General Engineering or equivalent. A current First Aid Certificate, a forklift endorsement and a current Electrical Appliance Serviceperson registration are all desirable. Work experience in a general engineering workshop with the maintenance and repair of automated equipment is required, and compliance and site-specific training will be given.
