Focus on proactive plant fault identification and process improvement Reliability Technician Plant Reliability Engineering Limited (Prelim) provides clients with a range of reliability engineering services which includes plant lubrication, oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared, ultrasonics and filtration. We have a role for a Reliability Technician at our Oji Fibre Solutions client site at Kinleith. We require a person with lubrication experience who can assist our reliability team in their operation and at the same time provide a strong interface with our client’s safety, maintenance engineering and business functions. This role has a strong reliability focus to assist Prelim proactively identify plant faults to prevent reactive maintenance interventions, increase equipment reliability and help identify developing equipment failures. This is achieved by following planned maintenance procedures and RCM driven continuous improvement activities. We are after an enthusiastic person with a mechanical engineering background and manufacturing experience who has managed maintenance or engineering teams. Skills: • Appropriate trade qualification or strong mechanical maintenance background with pulp & paper industry experience • Lubrication experience and training to MLTI • Understanding of lubrication and oil analysis • Experience in managing process improvement projects • Coordinate services within client safety, maintenance and business teams • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Strong commitment to, and proven record in health and safety • Knowledge of safe systems of work such as JSA’s, SOP’s & permit to work processes • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and a high level of initiative • Results focused • Effective communicator & team player with a sense of humour Experience: A background in plant maintenance will be an asset in this position with strong communication skills and ability to engage with other managers and technical teams. We are looking for a person who has pulp and paper industry experience and preferably lubrication knowledge. Proven experience working in an industrial environment, ideally with some exposure to reliability centred maintenance (RCM) and process improvement initiatives. You need to have the desire to see improvements throughout - even when others can't see the need or reason. Applicants must be able to show initiative, be self-starters and able to manage his / her time. Ideally this role is based in the Waikato region such as Tokoroa. This role provides further learning opportunities, new technologies and a very supportive team environment. There is a salary of between $70 k and $90 k depending on experience and is based on 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with an 8:00am start.
