For over 90 years, we've supplied more than 900,000 spinning wheels and weaving looms to customers in over 40 countries. As a Spray Finishing Production Operator, you will play an important role in our manufacturing process, applying a high-quality finish to our products while maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship, efficiency, and safety. About the Role This is a hands-on production role within our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for operating our automated spray line, including preparing, spraying, and finishing timber components to meet our quality standards. Attention to detail, consistency, and pride in your work are essential. Key Responsibilities - Prepare timber components for finishing - Apply water-based lacquer using automated spray equipment - Monitor finish quality and ensure products meet company standards - Sand, touch up, and inspect finished components as required - Maintain spray booth, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition - Follow production schedules to meet daily and weekly targets - Adhere to all health and safety procedures - Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and efficiency Skills & Experience - Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not essential as all training will be provided - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work - Good hand-eye coordination and practical skills - Ability to follow processes and work instructions accurately - Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively within a team - Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks - Positive attitude and willingness to learn What We Offer - Competitive hourly rate - Permanent full-time role (Monday to Friday) - Training and development opportunities - A supportive team environment where quality craftsmanship is valued - Stable employment with a well-established and internationally recognised manufacturer Important Information - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (no visa sponsorship available) - Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required - A Ministry of Justice background check will be conducted - Applications will be reviewed as they are received How to Apply Please submit your CV with references to: Kerrin Forster Ashford Wheels & Looms LP PO Box 474 Ashburton accounts@ashford.co.nz
