As a Cable Jointer, you’ll provide specialist HV and LV jointing services, support network maintenance and projects, and respond to electrical distribution faults for both network and third-party clients. About the role In this role, you will: * Deliver field-based technical and electrical service * Complete HV/LV jointing, installation, maintenance, and repairs * Work on substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution assets * Assist with network faults and undertake repairs * Support external contracts, including occasional stay-away work About you Ideally, you will: * Have proven experience and a strong understanding of network electrical systems * Be a Registered Electrician with 2+ years’ experience * Hold qualifications a Distribution Line Mechanic and/or HV Cable Jointer (desirable but not essential) * Have experience jointing XLPE up to 33kV and paper-lead up to 11kV * Have strong technical knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and operating systems * Have live LV jointing experience * Hold a Class 2 licence (Class 4 desirable but not essential) You’ll also be comfortable participating in a 24-hour standby roster and supporting operational requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for performing monthly and annual generator testing and servicing. This position is ideal for a limited license electrician with mechanical knowledge and ability. Training will be provided to the successful applicant. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct monthly and annual testing and servicing of generators. * Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with generators. * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generators, lighting towers and associated electrical equipment. * Perform a wide range of high-voltage electrical repairs * Fabrication of new power cables and construction of new power distribution boxes. * Conducting field service repairs * Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety standards. * Maintain detailed service records and reports. * Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients regarding their service needs. * Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. To be successful, a candidate is preferred to have the following qualifications, experience and skills: * Current EWRB Practising Licence. * Hold an appropriate provisional electrical qualification. * Current unrestricted Manual NZ Driver Licence. * Desired but not necessary - Hold current Electrical Inspector qualification. * Minimum of 2 years in associated activities. * Commercial and industrial installation experience preferred. * Familiar with distribution systems and associated procedures an advantage. * Knowledge of all appropriate industry rules and regulations including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015. * Knowledge of Electrical Wiring Regulations and Codes of Practice. * Operational experience in streetlight routine asset maintenance and construction of new street lighting infrastructure. About the role We are searching for a Contracts Supervisor to join our Kawerau Projects Team, based in the beautiful region of the Bay of Plenty. This is a permanent full-time (40 hours per week) position managing the Projects Delivery Team. Whilst the days of work will predominantly be Monday to Friday, weekend work may be called for on an as and when required basis. Our Kawerau Projects Team is just 20 minutes outside of Whakatane and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
