**Why You'll Love This Role** * Be part of a close-knit, supportive team that values collaboration and respect * Enjoy a balanced workday - hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday * Immediate start with a competitive salary of $66,000 + 8% accrued leave * Ongoing learning and development on the job **About the Role** * Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Credit Officer to join their Finance team. * You'll take ownership of a portfolio of smaller customer accounts, managing collections, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring payments are received in time. * This role is ideal for someone who values clear communication, enjoys building rapport with clients, and thrives in a supportive small-team environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Manage and maintain a portfolio of small customer accounts * Contact customers by phone and email to resolve payment issues * Negotiate, monitor, and follow up on payment arrangements * Provide friendly, respectful, and solution-oriented customer service * Keep accurate records of communications and payments * Monitor credit risk and escalate issues where required * Meet monthly collection targets and reduce overdue debt * Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve account queries **Skills & Experience** * Minimum 12 months' experience in debt collection or credit control * A customer-first mindset - you understand the importance of maintaining positive relationships while managing payments professionally * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Confidence handling payment discussions with tact and empathy * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) is advantageous **What's on Offer** * A friendly, professional, and supportive small-team environment * The opportunity to take ownership of your own client base * A role where your experience and professionalism are truly appreciated * Ongoing learning and career development opportunities
