We are involved in a variety of disciplines, including Earthworks, Civil, Site Works, Utilities, Three Waters, Rural and other specialist trades. Due to a phenomenal forward workload, we are looking for a Site Supervisor/Site Manager to join our busy team in Nelson. This could be a great opportunity for someone ready to step up into a Supervisor/Management role. About the Role: Reporting to the Construction Manager, your duties will involve but not be limited to: * Managing large sites, including subdivisions, commercial projects, drainage, civil works etc. * Help with identifying variations. * Provide input to assist with a growing organisation. * Educate, mentor and promote the company’s H&S and Environmental policies, procedures and practices to all. * Successful track record in the delivery of projects and time management skills * Strong knowledge and understating of Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word * Programme machinery and resource allocations in conjunction with the Operations manager. * Manage subcontractors, deal with clients and engineers. Nice to have/be: * Minimum 5+ years in similar role or a great understanding of civil construction machinery and practical knowledge would be beneficial. * Prior experience on the tools either in Earthworks, roading or drainage would be a distinct advantage. * Experience in Civil Construction and people management. * Good understanding of business profitability and the cost implications of decisions. * Able to communicate and work effectively with internal and external parties. * A total commitment to creating a zero harm workplace. * Positive, professional, and proactive attitude and approach. * Full NZ Class 1 Licence, WTR, Class 2-5 would be preferable In return, we offer: * This is a full-time permanent position. * You will be rewarded with a very competitive remuneration package, based on experience. * Company vehicle * Laptop, phone, expenses etc. * Training and personal development packages can be negotiated.
