We are currently looking for approx. 5 Welders for a variety of projects, specifically in the Wellington area. There is ongoing work in the region for the next 3 years alone! About the role: Our clients have a variety of work available starting straight away. Opportunities from large commercial on-site projects to factory only based positions are available. The maximum amount of hours available per week is 60 hours. What we are looking for: * Three years' minimum experience (essential) * Suitably certified by Trade / government/ training organisation (advantageous) * Be fit with a great work ethic. * Valid Site Safe advantageous (but not essential) * Have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Practices Tasks: * studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements * selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock * cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines * shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering * aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments * joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting * examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision * finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions * cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding Trade Assist will ensure you are respected, valued and rewarded for your hard mahi - We've got you!
