This role is responsible for overseeing the construction and installation of formwork systems for concrete structures. This role combines hands-on carpentry expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that formwork is built accurately, safely, and efficiently to support successful concrete pours. The Lead Formwork Carpenter plays a key role in maintaining quality standards, coordinating team activities, and contributing to the overall success of the division. **Key Priorities** * Lead the formwork team in constructing and installing formwork for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and other concrete elements. * Interpret and work from structural and architectural drawings, ensuring formwork is built to specification. * Plan daily tasks and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines. * Operate and supervise the use of carpentry tools, machinery, and formwork systems. * Ensure all formwork is constructed to high standards of accuracy, safety, and durability. * Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and site protocols. * Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and concrete crews to coordinate pours and sequencing. * Train and mentor junior carpenters and labourers, fostering a positive and productive team environment. * Inspect formwork prior to concrete placement and make necessary adjustments or repairs. **Skills & Education** * Minimum of 5 years relevant prior experience in Carpentry or related field. * Trade qualification in Carpentry or Building (NZQA or equivalent). * Thorough knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and its practical application. * Proven prior hands-on experience working with pod/waffle slab foundations. * Reliable and consistent attendance with strong work ethic. * Exceptional eye for detail in all aspects of concrete placement and formwork. * Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. * Takes pride in workmanship with quality being non-negotiable. * Current and clean New Zealand Driver’s License. **Apply Now** If you have the skills, experience, and dedication we're looking for, and you're ready to contribute to a top-notch team in the concrete industry, we'd love to hear from you.
