In this hands-on role you’ll carry out fabrication maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heavy off-road machinery including loaders material handlers and terminal tractors. You’ll be based at the Bluff port with access to the right tools gear and support. **Location:** Bluff Port **Status:** Full-time Mon-Fri 0700 - 1600 **Specific Responsibilities:** * Carry out welding fabrication and repairs on heavy machinery and port equipment * Monitor and replace worn attachments and components * Provide technical input to improve component quality and longevity * Maintain a safe work environment and report incidents promptly **Who we're after:** Candidates must be Level 4 Trade Certified. We're on the lookout for an experienced Aluminum Fabricator/Welder with at least 3 years' manufacturing and supervisory experience. Requirements * Skills in metal arc welding and aluminum and Sheetmetal fabrication * Welding trade qualification to AS/NZS 2980 certification (or equivalent) * Ability to produce and QA/QC architecturally specified welding output quality to satisfy strict criteria is critical. * Forklift certification and experience with fabrication machinery The successful applicant must be able to read mechanical drawings and machining detail drawings and understand how mechanical components fit together. A good understanding of various sheet metal types and suitability for folding and painting/anodising would be useful. Reliability, good communication skills, a 'can do' attitude and ability to meet production schedules are essential. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Metal Fabricator Welder required throughout the Southland region! OneStaff is looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder for multiple roles! You will need to be reliable and motivated. You might be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred. The normal duties to be performed comprise all activities related to marking, cutting, shaping, welding and assembling steel and other metal materials to create or repair metal structures and products including but not limited to: Duties include: * Fabricate, install and repair metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, or beams and girders for construction projects * Preparing metal for fabrication * Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints * Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines * Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes and shears * Welding metal pieces together using techniques like MIG, TIG or stick welding * Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work * Fabricating and constructing metal components * Grinding and finishing completed products * Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all welds, joints and parts meet quality standard and making any necessary adjustments * Adhering to health & safety protocols * Other duties assigned by supervisor Pay conditions: Minimum $30.00 per hour to a maximum of $35.00 per hour depending on experienceHours of work: A minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed.Skills and experience required: * Minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or relevant qualification * Friendly, with good time management, and excellent work ethic are essential * Flexibility to work in various locations across the country * A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry * Commitment to health and safety practices on-site * Reliable and hardworking Location:You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
