We have a great opportunity to join the front-line operations team in our Hastings Depot as a Dispatcher. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. You will work as part of a great team to ensure our operational and service delivery KPIs are achieved - so the ideal candidate will need to be operationally focused, highly organised, and have a great customer service approach. Role and Responsibilities: * Supporting the Depot Manager to manage and maintain the smooth and punctual operation of the depot services by dispatching buses on all routes within the contract areas in the time required and ensuring that sufficient drivers are available. * Ensure that service delivery is met daily, and that all SOPs are followed whilst ensuring high standards of quality and safety compliance. * Support with overseeing the day-to-day needs of the drivers, including wellbeing/ welfare and maintaining performance standards and training needs. * Engage with internal stakeholders as required efficiently responding to escalations, incidents and complaints as well as maintenance requirements. * Performing depot/dispatch administrative work to a high standard. * Covering Urban, School, SESTA and Charter driving duties as needed. * Working with the team to carry out yard duties as required. * Some on-call weekends may be required from time to time Skills/core competencies: * Excellent customer service approach. * High level of planning and organisational skills. * Competent and clear written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders. * Be able to remain calm under pressure. * Ability to manage and coordinate people. * Class 2 license and P endorsement preferred but not essential. MEWP Dispatcher

We are seeking a MEWP Dispatcher to coordinate the delivery of machinery and access equipment within the Hawkes Bay region. This position will be based out of our Whakatu yard, reporting to the Managing Director, and will be responsible for customer service and business development. In this role you will be responsible for efficiently scheduling and dispatching our fleet of MEWPs, forklifts, transporters and water tankers, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. It is essential that you are someone who can think on their feet, adapt to ever changing priorities, and maintain strong communication with both clients and drivers. You will play a key part in managing day-to-day branch operations while developing strong relationships with local contractors and customers. Your responsibilities will include handling hire contracts, coordinating fleet availability, and identifying opportunities to grow market share through exceptional customer service and proactive sales calls. Full training for this role will be provided Duties • Handle all on-line and telephone enquiries and orders to ensure equipment is supplied accurately and on time. • Liaise with drivers and the mechanical team to ensure that equipment is available, maintained, and ready for delivery. • Manage the end-to-end hire process - including creating and updating hires, off-hires, and transfers. • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, local contractors, and project managers to maximise utilisation and revenue opportunities. • Organise for site visits and client meetings to promote the fleet and ensure customer satisfaction. • Work closely with the Managing Director to identify local opportunities and support regional initiatives. Skills Required • Background in heavy equipment, rental, construction, or related service industries (preferred). • Strong computer literacy and data entry skills. • Ability to allocate fleet in efficient manner • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships. • Good geographical knowledge of Hawkes Bay. • Good understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements • Excellent organisational skills. • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a small team. • Sound command of the English language and professional presentation. About the Job Log scaling is an NZQA accredited job, where a structured training programme can gain you a recognised qualification. You don't need previous experience in this type of role either as training is provided. The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Log Scaler manually "scales" or measures each log using an international standard, then barcodes the log and scans it into our system so that every single log can be tracked wherever it is. The Checkpoint is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount. Hours are varied with the Checkpoint normally operating Monday to Friday 04.00am to 10pm, however hours can vary. Occasional weekend work will also be required dependent on customer volumes.
