Based in Hastings, we have a proud legacy of over 75 years and a strong pipeline of civil and infrastructure projects. The Role: We have an opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Civil Manager, the role is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing civil projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring quality, safety and client satisfaction, ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. This role is multi-faceted and requires achieving results through others and therefore includes the effective leadership and management of specific Civil team members. Your Responsibilities: You will be primarily responsible for: • Managing civil projects up to 5 million in value • Leading and mentoring a skilled team • Planning and scheduling projects to meet deadlines and budgets • Ensuring health and safety compliance at all times with all workers involved. • Overseeing contractual, financial and quality assurance requirements including maintaining comprehensive project documentation and accurate project reports and updates. • Coordinate project program with clients and production team to ensure smooth delivery of the project. • Preparation of future tenders, quotes and submissions to clients. • Active participation in relevant meetings including management and toolbox meetings. Yours Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in project management level role, ideally within the construction industry and will also have the following skills: • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in civil construction • Strong knowledge of NZ3910 and NZ3916 • Expertise in cost control, financial reporting, and pricing variations • Knowledge and understanding of Deep Foundation, piling and structures. • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures and equipment • Strong operational and organisational skills • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence team members positively • High focus on and good understanding of health and safety requirements • Exceptional problem-solving skills • Ability to mentor, support and grow other team members whilst contributing to a high-performance team delivering projects. • Valid NZ Drivers Licence • Applicants for the position will need to be legally allowed to work in NZ. We work on a variety of projects with our own Developments, Heavy Commercial Projects, Large Scale Residential Developments and some High Spec Residential Housing - and have a strong flow of work through into 2026 and beyond. We are currently working on some exciting projects with more in the pipeline. Experiencing rapid growth, we need an experienced site manager to join our team now and help us move forward! Lead the delivery of complex civil works with one of New Zealand's most respected contractors. My client is looking for a hands-on Civil Site Supervisor to join their team in Hawke's Bay. This is a role for a practical, boots-on-the-ground leader who loves being out on site and making things happen. You'll play a key part in delivering projects, from large-scale bulk earthworks and road construction to three-waters, drainage networks, utility installation and site infrastructure packages. What you'll do Plan and run day-to-day operations across multiple civil work fronts including bulk earthworks, stormwater and wastewater installation, watermain upgrades and general civil infrastructure delivery Lead and coordinate site teams of 5-10+ people, ensuring targets for safety, quality, productivity and programme are consistently achieved Set daily and weekly work plans, sequence activities and allocate plant, labour and materials to maximise output and efficiency Work closely with engineers and project managers to interpret drawings, resolve design queries and implement technical solutions on site Manage on-site H&S compliance and environmental controls, ensuring documentation, toolbox talks and audits are completed and standards are met Monitor progress, escalating risks early and contributing to programme planning and reporting Be a key on-the-ground link between delivery teams and project leadership ensuring plans become results What we're looking for Proven experience as a Site Supervisor understanding construction methodology in a self-performing environment Hands-on leadership style and the ability to drive site teams to deliver complex works Solid technical understanding of bulk earthworks, drainage, watermain construction and utilities installation Strong planning and organisational skills able to sequence works, manage crews and deliver to tight deadlines Confident communicator who can liaise with engineers, project managers, subcontractors and clients Please note: This is a hands-on site leadership position - contractor-side supervisor experience is essential.
