Are you an experienced road maintenance professional looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a dedicated Class 2 / General Labourer to join our client's team in Hamilton.
About the Role: As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the state highway network across the Waikato region. This hands-on role involves a wide range of tasks including:
* Coordinating with the Operations Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery to customers and stakeholders
* Leading and supporting the cyclic maintenance crew
* Conducting daily inspections and reporting
* Performing minor road repairs (potholes, edge breaks, guardrail fixes, etc.)
* Maintaining road signage, edge marker posts, and clearing roadside rubbish
* Sweeping, culvert cleaning, and emergency response activities
Role Requirements:
* A Full Class 2 licence
* Previous experience in pavement and traffic services maintenance (advantageous)
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour
* STMS qualification (preferred, but not essential)
* Flexibility to work after-hours and respond to callouts on a rostered basis.
* Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
* A team-first mindset, self-motivation, and a high standard of workmanship.
* Willingness to mentor and support junior team members.
All successful candidates must under-go and pass a pre-employment drug screen and MOJ check prior to employment.
