Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled Water Servicemen to join our team. The role involves working with a variety of tools and equipment and ensuring all work complies with relevant specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, maintain, repair, and service water distribution assets
* Perform excavation and backfilling trenches, installing, repairing and replacing water mains, valves and hydrants
* Ordering materials and equipment such as pipes and special fittings
* Complete work according to specifications and industry standards
* Report issues to the Supervisor for resolution
* Maintain adherence to health and safety regulations and procedures
* Accurately document and report completed work
Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in water infrastructure maintenance and installation, particularly with water mains, valves, and hydrants
* Ability to operate machinery and tools
* Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, and diagrams
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently, managing time and tasks effectively
* Full New Zealand driver’s license (WT endorsement preferred)
* Commitment to health and safety standards and maintaining a safe working environment
* Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various weather conditions
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
