Horizon is growing into a national services provider – and due to this exciting growth we are looking for a Distribution Line Mechanic to join our growing team in Palmerston North. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Reporting to the Field Services Manager, you will be responsible for:
Installing, repairing and maintaining overhead and underground distribution systems.
Actively work and maintain the day to day running of the Horizon Energy network.
Build strong long term relationships with our customers ensuring they see Horizon Networks as a preferred supplier with excellent customer service and technical support.
To be successful, a candidate is preferred to have the following qualifications, experience and skills, but not essential:
Current NZ EWRB Practising Licence or equivalent
NZ Line Mechanic Qualification or equivalent
Current Unrestricted Manual NZ Driver Licence, including heavy traffic
Must have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in directly relevant activities
Familiar with distribution systems and associated procedures up to and including 33kV
Knowledge of tree compliance regulations and vegetation management procedures desirable
Knowledge of all relevant industry rules and regulations including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
Practical skills, including the ability to use and care for equipment
Must be comfortable working at heights
Ability to read and understand plans and maps
General knowledge of traffic management requirements desirable
