The decision to establish Renaissance was greatly inspired by a group of young disabled people from Auckland. They were determined to live in their own place and never have to go into institutional care again. Their dream was to make flatting, have friends, socialising, work and settle down with someone they love, just as common and acceptable for disabled people as it is for the rest of the population. It was the determination of these young disabled individuals that gave the founders of Renaissance Group the impetus to set up services in the community that focused on choice and control for a disabled person. \r\n\r\nABOUT THE ROLE:\r\n\r\nThere are a couple of opportunities available. One option includes caregiving responsibilities, and the second focuses on coaching to build life skills for long-term independence for the disabled person.\r\n\r\nThe role may suit a female support worker with a background in caregiving, as you will be required to support two young women with their personal care needs as part of your weekly roster. \r\n\r\nAs a Support Worker at Renaissance Group, you’ll build relationships and support the achievement of quality-of-life outcomes for disabled people by:\r\n\r\n* Supporting goal achievement and independence.\r\n* Identifying, developing and supporting natural supports and community networks\r\n* Enhancing choice and control\r\n* Providing support that is flexible and puts the ownership on the disabled person\r\n\r\nCare-giving responsibilities include and are not limited to:\r\n* Personal care, including showering, bathing and dressing\r\n* Moving and handling equipment\r\n* General housekeeping\r\n* Meal preparation\r\n\r\nABOUT YOU:\r\n\r\n* Passionate about making a difference!\r\n* Have a positive attitude \r\n* Great people skills\r\n* Sense of humour\r\n* Professionalism that will make you shine in your role\r\n* Excellent communication skills\r\n* Flexible and committed\r\n* An outside-the-box thinker\r\n* Own a reliable vehicle and at least a Restricted Diver licence.\r\n\r\nAs we are looking to build a team of support workers, there are opportunities for entry-level and experienced support workers. We do our best to provide flexible options that work with your schedule.\r\nTraining - Opportunities for sector training and courses to help you grow in your position and gain professional experience for future opportunities. If you do not have qualifications in the sector, we will support you in working towards NZ qualifications in health and well-being.\r\nCulture - become a part of a very well-established and high-performing team.\r\n\r\nIf you believe you have what it takes and have access to a reliable vehicle, why not apply now?","price":"Negotiable Salary","unit":"per year","currency":null,"company":"Trademe","language":"en","online":1,"infoType":1,"biz":"jobs","postDate":"1758853563000","seoName":"support-worker","supplement":null,"author":null,"originalPrice":null,"soldCnt":null,"topSeller":null,"source":1,"cardType":null,"action":"https://nz.ok.com/en/city-hamilton/cate-community-development/support-worker-6385325607078511/","localIds":null,"cateId":null,"tid":null,"logParams":{"tid":"4baf95c6-24ac-48af-b70f-0f3d1f1130bb","sid":"076d4bb1-1940-4175-8c64-51811a48fbac"},"attrParams":{"summary":null,"highLight":["Support disabled individuals with personal care","Build life skills for independence","Flexible work options and training opportunities"],"employment":[{"icon":"https://sgj1.ok.com/yongjia/bkimg/8hvituaa__w72_h72.webp","name":"Job Type","value":"Full-time","unit":null},{"icon":"https://sgj1.ok.com/yongjia/bkimg/is8j0f44__w72_h72.webp","name":"Workplace type","value":"Onsite","unit":null},{"icon":"https://sgj1.ok.com/yongjia/bkimg/ji66qqr0__w72_h72.webp","name":null,"value":"Hamilton,Waikato Region","unit":null}]},"isFavorite":false},{"category":"4000,4083,4086","location":"Hamilton, New Zealand","infoId":"6361224097740911","pictureUrl":"https://sgpic3.ok.com/logo/trademe.png","videos":null,"title":"Housing Co-ordinator","content":"Housing Co-ordinator\r\n \r\nPermanent, Full-time \r\n(40 hours per week)\r\n \r\nWorking hours are typically Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm \r\n(some flexibility with weekend hours may be required)\r\n \r\nPosition is preferably based Hamilton, but the work happens across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions\r\n (other base locations in these regions may be considered for the right candidate)\r\n \r\nPay Scale: $66,906 - $78,713 per annum\r\n (depending on experience and qualifications)\r\nEmber Korowai Takitini | Nga Matapono\r\n \r\nEmber Korowai Takitini blends professional expertise and lived experience to offer a range of services and supports for anyone with mental health, addiction, or intellectual disability needs.\r\nAt Ember we support people to live the lives they choose, and we challenge the systems that hold them back.\r\nWe desire a society that better understands and responds to mental distress, addiction, and intellectual disability\r\nEmber offers:\r\n \r\nAdditional leave, including recreation days and study leave\r\n \r\nA comprehensive Health & Wellbeing programme, including health checks, flu vaccinations, and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and more\r\n \r\nTraining opportunities for upskilling, personal & professional development, and career progression.\r\n \r\nThe opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day in a values-led organization\r\nThe Service | Ko Te Whare O Southern Services\r\nEmber’s Southern Services span the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions and include a range of innovative supports tailored to whaiora with high and complex needs across both residential and community settings. \r\nOur Waikato Services deliver community-based individual and clinical support, empowering whaiora to build routines, grow independence, and thrive within their communities. Support Worker
Renaissance was born in 2001 from humble beginnings…..a garage to be precise!
ABOUT THE ROLE:
There are a couple of opportunities available. One option includes caregiving responsibilities, and the second focuses on coaching to build life skills for long-term independence for the disabled person.
The role may suit a female support worker with a background in caregiving, as you will be required to support two young women with their personal care needs as part of your weekly roster.
As a Support Worker at Renaissance Group, you’ll build relationships and support the achievement of quality-of-life outcomes for disabled people by:
* Supporting goal achievement and independence.
* Identifying, developing and supporting natural supports and community networks
* Enhancing choice and control
* Providing support that is flexible and puts the ownership on the disabled person
Care-giving responsibilities include and are not limited to:
* Personal care, including showering, bathing and dressing
* Moving and handling equipment
* General housekeeping
* Meal preparation
ABOUT YOU:
* Passionate about making a difference!
* Have a positive attitude
* Great people skills
* Sense of humour
* Professionalism that will make you shine in your role
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexible and committed
* An outside-the-box thinker
* Own a reliable vehicle and at least a Restricted Diver licence.
As we are looking to build a team of support workers, there are opportunities for entry-level and experienced support workers. For experienced support workers, we need at least three years of experience in the sector or a level 4 qualification in health and well-being.
Benefits for successful applicants:
Location - we hate commuting too - and we'll do our best to provide clients as close to you as possible.
Flexibility - We understand how difficult it can be to find a job that balances your time with school, kids, or other priorities. We do our best to provide flexible options that work with your schedule.
Training - Opportunities for sector training and courses to help you grow in your position and gain professional experience for future opportunities. If you do not have qualifications in the sector, we will support you in working towards NZ qualifications in health and well-being.
Culture - become a part of a very well-established and high-performing team.
If you believe you have what it takes and have access to a reliable vehicle, why not apply now?
