This Hamilton-based role is with the WPM team and will be working across Waikato. THE ROLE Are you a Licensed Building Practitioner with exceptional people skills? We're looking for a professional builder who excels at customer service and can confidently work in various client environments, including residential homes, while maintaining the highest standards of politeness, friendliness, and professional presentation. WHY EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE SKILLS MATTER This is a client-facing role where your personality is as crucial as your trade skills. You'll work on diverse projects across various sites, and some assignments will require you to work inside clients' homes. Your ability to be genuinely friendly, respectful, and well-presented directly impacts our company's reputation and client relationships in every environment. YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SUCCESS You'll manage building projects from start to finish, interpreting drawings, estimating materials and costs, and coordinating with councils for consents. On-site, you'll supervise work to ensure compliance with building codes, handling everything from foundations to interior finishes. You'll also be responsible for quality control, inspections, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Beyond technical expertise, you'll regularly interact with clients. In residential settings, your friendly demeanor and professional communication are vital for explaining progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring clients' comfort in their personal spaces. This role is for someone who enjoys client interaction and takes pride in delivering both quality work and exceptional service. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We need an LBP equally skilled in construction and customer service. Whether on commercial sites or in homes, you must be someone clients genuinely enjoy working with – polite, friendly, well-groomed, and professional. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS * Current Licensed Building Practitioner with proven on-site experience. * Outstanding customer service and exceptional personal presentation (immaculately groomed, polite, genuinely friendly). * Experience in diverse client environments (commercial and residential). * Natural people person; clients should feel at ease. * Excellent verbal communication (explaining complex concepts simply) and professional phone/email manner. * Detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and effective under pressure while maintaining friendliness. * Full Class 1 driver's license. * Initiative, tenacity, genuine care for client satisfaction, and strong commitment to health and safety.
