Develop and design menus for cafe and functions Position Available: Head Chef - Full Time We are looking for a head chef for Fairview Golf and Country Club in Katikati, Western Bay of Plenty. Fairview is a busy golf course and country club, (public) café and popular and well-appointed function venue that operates 7 days a week. We are seeking an experienced and motivated head chef to work directly with our manager to take responsibility for the running of all food aspects for the business including functions and events. Key responsibilities include: * All aspects of running a kitchen – we cater for a variety of functions from small gatherings to large events including, corporate functions, birthdays, weddings, celebration of life, and golf tournaments * Developing and designing menus for the café and functions * Ordering (paying attention to seasonal availability), costing and preparing of food items for cafe/events/ functions and managing the kitchen * Maintaining a clean kitchen & ensuring adherence to food safety and the food control plan * Coordinating and supervising/training of staff when required * Operate the kitchen in a profitable manner * Work with the manager to ensure customer and client requirements are met To be successful, you must: * Have previous experience in a similar role * Possess excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to plan, and supervise staff * Have an ability to work under pressure and multi-task * Work a range of different shifts which include nights and weekends * Have a friendly and positive attitude with a passion for providing quality service & consistently excellent food Holding a relevant cookery qualification would be advantageous.
