**Location:** Jeff Farm, Southland **About the role:** The Salvation Army's Jeff Farm is seeking a reliable and organised **Farm Cook** to provide wholesome and nutritious meals for our cadets during a six-month parental leave period. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare lunch and pre-cook dinner Monday to Friday for 4 cadets - Maintain high food hygiene standards and ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy - Set weekly menus and order groceries and stores within a set budget - Provide nutritious, budget-conscious meals appropriate for active, growing teenagers - Manage the cadet duty roster for cleaning of living quarters - Report directly to the Farm Manager **About You:** - Experienced in preparing healthy, home-style meals - Well-organised, with strong kitchen hygiene and cleaning standards - Confident managing a food budget and ordering supplies weekly - Able to engage positively with cadets and promote good living habits - NZ Citizen, Resident, or have the legal right to work in New Zealand - Able to travel to and from the farm daily - own vehicle required **This role does not involve weekend work** and would suit someone looking for part-time hours in a rewarding, practical environment. **Our offer to you:** - An additional working week of Salvation Army leave awarded annually on 1 July - Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeing - Subsidised flu vaccinations - Discounted Medical Insurance with Southern Cross - TSA discount card for discount with various retailers such as Beaurepairs, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7 - Lunch provided each day worked - Travel reimbursement will be negotiated Candidates should be adaptable, energetic, self-motivated and committed to our mission of 'caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society' This role is **fixed term part time** and **hours worked will be a minimum of 20 per week.** There is a need for flexibility in how these hours are worked from time to time due to key events in the farming calendar.
