THE OPPORTUNITY If you’re passionate about farming and eager to take on a varied and rewarding role, we want to hear from you. As a shepherd general, you’ll work closely with the head shepherd and farm manager, who will support your growth and development. Your day will include variety in livestock management and general farm maintenance. THE FARM Parikanapa Station is a 2350ha effective hill country station located in the Waerenga-o-kuri district, just 40 minutes from Gisborne. This 28,000su breeding and finishing property runs 9,000 lambing ewes and 1,050 calving cows and includes a dedicated cattle finishing unit. Horses are regularly used for shifting stock. A wide range of outdoor recreational activities are right at the doorstep. Primary schooling is available at Waerenga-o-kuri, with a school bus service to the gate, while secondary schooling is provided in Gisborne.
