Our client is a respected local family business that has been growing and developing consistently for over 70 years. With showrooms in both New Plymouth and Stratford, they offer a complete range of flooring, furniture and window solutions, from traditional styles to modern, motorised designs. With a strong team of five experienced floor layers and three apprentices, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Floor Layer to join their crew. The role:As a Senior Floor Layer, you will be working independently and alongside the existing team to deliver high-quality flooring installations. You'll be expected to bring your knowledge, attention to detail, and leadership ability to ensure the highest standard of workmanship for clients. Key duties include: * Preparing subfloors as required * Laying a variety of flooring products to plan and specification * Leading or mentoring junior team members where required * Uplifting and disposing of existing flooring materials * Ensuring all work sites are left clean and professional * Liaising with clients to ensure a high standard of service The ideal candidate will have: * Proven experience as a floor layer (minimum 3+ years preferred) * Strong knowledge of different flooring products and installation methods * Ability to work independently and problem solve on-site * Good communication and leadership skills * Reliability and strong time management Benefits include: * Join a well-established, family-run business with over 70 years in the industry * Full-time, permanent role - Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (approx. 42 hours per week) * No weekend work * Job security and long-term opportunities within a growing team * Relocation support negotiable If you're an experienced floor layer looking for stability and a supportive team environment, apply online today with your CV and cover letter.
