About Our Role: * Redroofs Lifecare in the city of Dunedin * Casual (as and when required not on a regular basis) * AMs', PM's and weekend's shifts We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cook, with a passion for working in a culinary environment, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will have a positive can-do attitude, have the belief that good food is important to well-being, and be great at working with people. As a Cook at Redroofs Lifecare, you will be responsible for helping to provide hearty nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring any individual food requirements are met. You will need to be reliable and eager to lend a hand, including working AM and weekend shifts, as needed. Your Skills and Experience: * Proven experience in catering and food service, ideally working in a commercial kitchen (however on the job training will be given). * A culinary qualification or equivalent experience. * A passion for creating good food and providing an exceptional dining experience. * Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. * A genuine love for helping people, with excellent customer service skills, and a friendly and positive attitude. * Experience delivering to a quality standard. About this role * Redroofs Lifecare in the city of Dunedin * Permanent part-time (7 hours per week) * PM's and weekend's shifts Our Kitchen Assistants are responsible for helping to provide meals for our residents at Cantabria Lifecare, working within a cohesive and well-established team environment. We only want the best for our residents, which is why we are seeking a reliable, helpful professional. This is a busy rest home kitchen where you will be undertaking manual tasks and assisting the cook as requested. Experience is not essential as on the job training will be provided to ensure you succeed in this position. This is a physical role where time on your feet is needed, and a good level of physical fitness is required. Skills & Experience * Experience working in a kitchen, preferably a commercial kitchen would be preferred however on the job training will be provided. * Basic cookery and food hygiene skills. * Very good interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to work within a team environment and be a team player. * Availability for morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. * Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and applying the Treaty of Waitangi standards in the workplace.
