Peavey 5150 (Script Letter)

Early 90's Peavey 5150 Script Letter. Imported from Japan a couple of months ago, this is a 110v model that Jaret at Rectified Amps in Wellington converted. It has a brand new Mercury Magnetics 230-240v power transformer (swapping the power transformer does NOT change the character of the amp, but the original power transformer will be included in the sale). I've owned a couple of different amps to try over the last year or so and as with the others, I'm just not gelling with the 5150 so it's up for sale so I can place a cheeky order for something special. It currently has Sovtek 6L6's in the power section and 12AX7's in the preamp section. Jaret, who has worked on a few of my amps and always does superb work, told me the tubes had life left in them but a retube would be sensible a little bit later down the line. Jaret modded it so that the bias can be adjusted. Eddie liked his amps biased cold so these amps have a pretty cold standard bias. Also, Jaret serviced the chassis by cleaning it as well as replacing some of the nuts and washers with nice shiny new ones. Along with the aforementioned mods, the power cord was swapped for an AUS/NZ compliant one. For a 30+ year old amp, it is in very good condition. It is fully operational. All of the lettering is intact. Includes footswitch. I really don't want to ship this thing at the moment so for now it's pickup from Wellington Central only. These amps are incredibly loud, so I also have a Two Notes Captor X 8 ohm that I can include for a fee. If you're interested, let me know and we can come to an arrangement.
