You will also be supporting a variety of education programmes and activities offered to the men we manage. This position is based within our custodial environment thus it is imperative that you can effectively lead by example and maintain professional boundaries. Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of end-to-end rehabilitation and reintegration functions, our Learning and Interventions teams are dedicated to reducing re-offending. As an Education Tutor you will support prison-based learners to become better prepared for employment and further education. You will focus on supporting learners to engage in pathway assessments, using our secure online education websites to help improve their skills, knowledge, and transition into further study and/or employment post release. You will also be supporting a variety of education programmes and activities offered to the men we manage. You will play a significant role in encouraging learners to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, work towards achieving New Zealand qualifications and to acquire job search skills. This position is based within our custodial environment thus it is imperative that you can effectively lead by example and maintain professional boundaries. By interacting closely with key stakeholders, both internal and external, you will be collaborative in sharing information and ensuring outcomes beneficial to the successful rehabilitation of the men in our care.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract, based at Rimutaka Men's Prison.
The successful candidate will begin on 23rd February, 2026.

Programme Facilitators support work with people within our two Wellington Prisons and our six Community Corrections sites to understand and address the causes of their offending and assist them in creating crime-free futures. They do this through delivering a range of clinically designed therapeutic programmes, either individually or in a group with a co-facilitator.
Using the principles of manaaki, kaitiaki, wairua, rangatira, and whanau, Programme Facilitators deliver a range of clinically designed therapeutic rehabilitation programmes. At Ara Poutama we work collaboratively to treat those in our care and management with respect to uphold mana and dignity.
We appreciate the different skill set within our team who come from different backgrounds, cultures, education, and experience - they all share the ability to motivate and work alongside others to support them to make positive changes in their lives.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Kāpuhipuhi - Wellington Uni-Professional Ltd is growing its Scholarships team and is currently recruiting a full-time permanent position for a Programme Coordinator - Scholarships. This role supports the delivery of programmes under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme, specifically the Thematic Short Term Training Scholarships (TSTTS) portfolio and New Zealand English Language Training for Officials (NZELTO) programme.
Key responsibilities of the role
Provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to enable the successful delivery of the portfolio of programmes under the Manaaki scholarships umbrella with strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
This includes the following:
* Develop and maintain processes to support the operation and delivery of scholarship programmes
* Maintain programme and scholar information in the application management system
* Use mail merge to create scholarship letters, certificates and other documentation
* Arrange scholar travel, accommodation and insurance
* Engage with scholars and key stakeholders, providing relevant information and answering queries
* Prepare orientation packs and assist in pre-departure briefings if applicable
* Event and classroom logistics and delivery where applicable, including but not limited to room bookings, catering, set-up of venue and equipment
* Financial tasks including invoice processing, stipend payments and reimbursements
Ō pūmanawa - About you
Our perfect person will have some or all the education, experience and knowledge listed below:
* Proven experience in providing high quality administration, coordination, and support with a demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks and to work on several concurrent tasks effectively
* Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role
* Experience communicating within an organisation and with external stakeholders or clients
* A high level of technical competency in Microsoft Office products (in particular, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including mail-merges
* Experience with WordPress, InDesign, and Photoshop, or similar, desirable
* Experience with event or project management and public speaking useful
* Experience in the education environment, especially the tertiary sector
* Availability to work evenings and weekends, and travel if necessary
